Worthy Park RA
Heavily smoky, with Islay whisky and tobacco dominating the usual Worthy Park style; the result splits opinion, but the adventurous (and whisky fans) will find plenty to chew on. One to try if smoke and peat intrigue you.
Bold smoky rum, whisky notes, lingering tobacco, unusual Jamaican.

How does this rum taste?
- Fruchtigen WP und Bowmore-Finish
- Angenehmes Mundgefühl
- Smoke is really overwhelming
RumX members are divided over this Worthy Park release, with most honing in on the intense smoke, distinctive whisky influence, and flashes of classic WP fruit. The Islay cask presence is "overwhelming" for some (MarcT), yet others find the balance with notes of tobacco and oak: "Islay notes are very dominant" and worth the wait, as @DomM observes. Vanilla, ash, and subtle herbal touches surface after time in the glass, giving an unusual twist to a Jamaican rum—more peated whisky than fruit basket, and certainly, as TheShark65 notes, "kein Easy-Sipper".

"The nose is fruity and smoky with vanilla and a hint of tobacco. The palate is intense, spicy and has smoky wood with fruits and tobacco. I think whisky lovers will take a liking to this one because the flavours are pretty close to whisky. The fi isj is long and has smoky wood, tobacco and dried fruit to it. Price to quality is very good."
"Long time since last tasting and I still like it. - About a year ago since last tasting. I like it a lot. Sad my bottle is almost empty now."
"All in all, a delicious Worthy Park. Funnily enough, the smell and taste of whisky that I detect in this bottling doesn't even bother me that much. I actually quite like it. For whatever reason."
"Islay notes are very dominant in the nose. Needs quite some time in the Glas to show some WP notes as well. The combination of Bowmore and WP seems to work pretty well. However, the whisky notes are very prominent which will definitely not please every rum lover out there :)"
