“Overall an extremely elegant and smooth rum from Guadeloupe that I tasted at the Sweden Rumfest 2023. Many seems to believe it’s an Agricole, but it’s not it’s an molasses based rum. The Darboussier house started up in 1869 as a sugar factory and have taken its name from Jean Darboussier, a French trader and smuggler. This Hors s’Age is a blend of 6-8 years old molasses based column distilled rum that’s tropical aged in oak barrels, ex-cognac, ex-bourbon and ex-Armagnac.”

“10.09.2021 Sitting at home with some samples. Notes Medium to dark in colour, Nose Light wood, faint smoke, fruity, light citrus, faint mint, faint chocolate. Palate Round, sweet, light roasted wood, light citrus, spices, medium dry, light floral, faint chocolate. Finish Medium long, lightly dry, sweet, citrus, spice, light floral.”
