How does this rum taste?
- Fruity aroma profile
- Suitable for mixing
- Widely available
The Bacardi Gold highlights its Puerto Rican origins with a distillation from molasses using column stills, aged for two years. Users describe it with fruity and alcoholic aromas, with hints of pear and vanilla. The taste profile is sharply characterized by nail polish and alcoholic notes, merged with green apple. Primarily noted for shallow and sweet flavors, its finish is short and slightly bitter. Best suited for mixing, this rum is often seen as a basic option rather than for refined sipping. User reviews suggest its modest complexity and prevalent alcohol notes make it a fit for casual settings rather than connoisseurship, providing a neutral baseline taste profile when mixed with colas or cocktails.

"On The Rocks: On the nose a strong apple and spice with mild alcohol. Taste is shallow with an apple and spice with a very mild oak and burn. Finish is short starting sweet and going a little bitter. I would not go out of my way to drink this unmixed. Mixed Pepsi Zero: On the nose mild apple and sweet fruit. Taste reveals a mild sweet apple taste. Finish is short with the sweetness fading to slightly bitter. Not really much better mixed but is drinkable."

"On the rocks, typical average rum, everyday taste, fruity smells, no apparent tasting notes, just boozy"
