T.D.L Angostura 1919 (Vintage)
Most enjoy its sweet, creamy vanilla-caramel profile and mildness. Critics find it too sugary, flat and weak. Consensus: a pleasant beginner rum, less exciting once your palate evolves.
Those who enjoy sweet, soft 40% rums and want an easy, inoffensive sipper with vanilla, caramel and light fruit, or a gentle entry point into aged rum.

One of the first rums I tasted when my adult rum journey started, and it still pleasing me even that it’s too sweet. The nose have scents of arrack, vanilla and caramel. At the palate it’s sweet, creamy and round with flavors of arrack, vanilla and chocolate. The finish is medium long.
Once a goto rum after a busy day, now just a distant memory of former glory and at 40% ABV is just to weak. But I still like this older bottle better than the new one though. By the way, RumX should think about a way to handle and illustrate changes in taste preference over time.
C’était un cadeau, il a fallut le boire, je crois même avoir apprécié à l’époque.. Très doux et trop sucré pour mes goûts d’aujourd’hui.
First bottle I’ve put in my profile. More interesting in aroma than taste. Aroma is strong, sweet with lot of vanila presence. Taste is bit flat though. Too alcoholic, to my taste. Difficult to identify more tones. I will come back to it.
