The "Cask Collection HTR" was produced in Trinidad at the Caroni distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler A.D. Rattray. It was distilled in 1997 from Molasses and then aged for 17 years. The rum has an ABV of 63,6% and the mark is HTR. "Needs a very long time in the glass, at least 1 hour. Sees rounder but also unspectacular Caroni."
"This is a great Rattray in my mind. From the moment you open the bottle you know that this is a Caroni. The nose is heavy with runner, varnish and tar but there is also a tiny bit of fruit and vanilla. The palate is heavy as well though a bit more fruity than the nose. The rubber and polish is there with some fruits, caramel and spices. In the back i get a floral note. The finish is extremely long with barrel, tannins, spices and rubber in the back. "
