The "HTR" is a bottling from Trinidad's Caroni distillery, crafted by The Rum Mercenary & Kintra. Distilled in 1998 from molasses, it matured for 19 years, yielding a robust 55.1% ABV. This rum presents a complex aroma of floral, vegetal, and citrus notes, merging into hints of rose and violet. On the palate, it unfolds a warm, floral, and woody profile, complemented by citrus and synthetic nuances. Users note a distinct character marked by varnish and a lingering warm finish, reminiscent of tar and banana flavors. Agréablement surpris !!
On a un nez avec moins de notes empyreumatiques que d’accoutumé avec Caroni, c’est dense, c’est fruité (banane) mais on retrouve par la suite les marqueurs typiques de Caroni avec la ligne de départ d’une course de Karting. En bouche, c’est puissant et lourd, on retrouve la banane du nez, du vernis et on retourne dans les pots d’échappements de notre course de karting. Mais ce qui m’interpelle le plus sur ce Caroni, ce sont ses notes végétales et florales (rose-violette). La finale est chaude et c’est bon. Un vrai rum de pirate comme nous l’annonçait l’étiquette !
A very nice expression. In the mouth i get banana and tar. The finish is long and warming.
Premier caroni pour moi.. Assez abordable.. Nez horrible avec ce goût de plastique brûlé.. En bouche c'est mieux.. Mélange de café et de goudron... C'est très particulier
