My favorite rum for some time now. Aromas in abundance without intrusive sweetness, and then very discreetly the special bitter note of an Angostura. This rum makes it easy to dream yourself away to the Caribbean...
A rum from Trinidad of which we feel some typical markers in the nose, notably the toasted, spicy and mentholated notes that accompany some chocolate, woody, honeyed and fruity notes. On the palate, there is a contrast between the more roasted and dark notes on one side and the fresher and floral notes on the other. Fruits, spices and wood make a place in the middle of this aromatic battle. We find a rather average finish in length with quite a lot of spices, menthol and some fruits that remain. A classic and traditional rum in short, which will allow the novices to appreciate flavors a little more varied and complex than the basic Hispanic rums.
Am really positively surprised. Very nice complex and well balanced flavors. Good price-performance ratio. I can recommend to try
7,5:The nose of this rum is fresh and gourmand. We have candied, caramelized fruit and passion fruit, mandarin, prunes. After that burnt rubber, metallic notes come in.The wood is dry and fruits fermented with spicy quince compote. We find tannins, offset by a tart cherry. Resting allowing a molasses to come more intense, with a hint of metal, acidity and some smokiness. 7,3:On the palate it is sweet at first with grilled bread with mineral or metallic character. Then we receive fresh fruit juice with pears, peaches, mandarine and quinces, some dried fruit, a bit later with litchi and longan, minimal smokiness, even with a pinch of salt and spicy wood. 7:The finish is soft, thin, dry, vegetal and sweet with longan, woody with tannins..
