How does this rum taste?
Chamarel VS Rum is crafted in Mauritius from sugar cane juice, distilled using a column still, and aged for three years. The aromatic profile features fruity notes, particularly fruit schnapps and pear, mixed with vanilla and overripe nuances. Agreeable and easy to drink - pleasant as after dinner drink - but not much more to say
A light rum with notes of coconut and vanilla.
I think this rum would be popular with whisky lovers because I get a hint of whisky in the mix. The nose is kind of sweet with oak and vanilla in the front trailed by banana, honey and caramel and a hint of anise. The palate is sweet with oak and spice, the vanilla is very obvious. Then comes mint chocolate, banana and honey. The finish is medium long and sweet with oak spices and tropical fruits. Price to quality is OK.
