Le nez n'est pas désagréable. Très sucré de prime abord, mais aussi trop d'alcool au départ. On arrive quand même à y déceler des touches fruitées : un fruit doux type pêche ou abricot. Presque un bonbon. Une fois en bouche, tout s'écroule : alcool et amertume. La réduction a été brutale. C'est aqueux et plat. Pour un Diamond 1999, on est loin du compte. La finale est moins mauvaise, mais pas beaucoup plus agréable. Et malheureusement, ça reste assez longtemps en bouche.

Le nez est porté sur des notes terreuses-herbacées. Et on retrouve de la réglisse et de l’anis. Mais pas que, on retrouve également du raisin sec, du boisé et du cuir. Le nez est familier, mais il est complexe et intéressant. En bouche, c’est épicé et assez intense même à 46%. Il n’est pas parfaitement équilibré voir légèrement alcooleux. On retrouve une astringence voir une amertume un peu dérangeante dû à cette prédominance de boisé. Mais heureusement des fruits tropicaux permettent d’adoucir cela. La finale est chaude et plutôt sèche sur le boisé anisé. La conclusion est que ce PM est une bonne image de cet alambic, il lui manque un peu de gourmandise et est donc dédié aux amis des rhums plus secs. Il me fait un peu penser à son frère l’El Dorado Rare Collection PM 99
