“Eine doch irgendwie verrückte Mischung aus klassischem Demerara-Profil der 70er und satter additiver Süsse von Melasse und Ahornsirup. Ja, hier wurde mit grösster Sicherheit nachträglich am Geschmacksprofil herumgedoktort - aber trotzdem bleibt die aromatische DNA der alten Demeraras erkennbar. Das, was den geneigten Rumliebhaber da im Glas erwartet ist eben bei Weitem nicht nur der plumpe Ansatz, ein an sich unbeeindruckendes Destillat nachträglich zu pimpen - denn offenbar war schon der Ausgangsstoff nicht gänzlich ohne Qualität. Wie gut genau kann kaum mehr bestimmt werden, dafür ist definitiv zu viel schmückendes Beiwerk involviert. Das Resultat ist zu betrachten - und das vermag durchaus noch zu überzeugen. Zu beachten: Meine Bewertung bezieht sich auf eine Abfüllung aus den 1970ern (s. Bild) - spätere Releases unterscheiden sich zT massiv im Profil.”

“This is a very young and powerful rum. It tastes through virtually any mixer! The proof is not 100 but 114 but maybe that has some history to it. Add a few drops of water and more flavours will be released.”
