17.05.2019 Nice get together at my place with nice spread of rums. Notes Dark to very dark in colour. Nose Fresh, wood, light roasted, faint smoke, plum faint leather, light chocolate. Palate Oily, light spicy, wood, roasted, plum, raisin, light leather, faint chocolate, earthy. Finish Medium long, wood, raisin, prunes, earthy, light nutty, light chocolate.
Day 11 in the Christmas calendar. Blind! Oh how beautiful. And clearly Guyana. Very round, balanced, good rum.Nose: intense woody-spicy. Slightly lemony. Chocolate, vanilla and cocoa. Seems dark overall, slightly sulfurous but not musty. Dark fruit, like plum, leather, orange and barrel out back.Palate: spicy-woody-bitter-sweet. Intense, full-bodied and really tasty. There is leather, oak, malt and nutmeg, some cocoa and slightly licorice at the back.Woody, spicy also in the finish with some black tea.For me a real buy recommendation!
Overall a bit too bitter and alcohol not particularly well integrated.
