The "Old Reserve" was produced in Cuba at the Sancti Spiritus distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Alambic. It was distilled in 1998 from Molasses with a Column Still and then aged for 20 years. The rum has an ABV of 45%. This is a limited release and there are only 95 bottles.

“Endlich mal wieder ein Sancti Spiritus… Nase: mit nur 45% nicht so treibend wie ich es sonst gewohnt bin. Dennoch schön komplex. Würzig-Zitrusfruchtig. Tatsächlich süßliche Zitrone mit frischer Limette und grünem Apfel. Geht deutlich Richtung Spülmittel, aber nicht unangenehm. Hat auch etwas leicht florales mit Kamille. Hinten raus milde Vanille. Erinnert mich übrigens an alte Beenleigh Abfüllungen. Gaumen: leider etwas flach. Kommt wenig fruchtig, eher salzig und bitter. Zitronenschale ist da. Wieder etwas, das mich an Seife oder Politur erinnert. Eine Mischung aus Nelke und Kümmel kommt hinzu, was sich auch bis in den Abgang zieht. Von einem 20 Jahre alten Sancti hätte ich mehr erwartet. Wieder einmal ist festzustellen, dass eine Verdünnung der Tod fast jeden Rums ist. Schade!”
