Kaniché Double Wood XO
A softly sweet, vanilla-forward Barbados rum with tropical and coconut touches, but a thin body and pronounced added sweetness that divides the room. One to try if you enjoy mellow, dessert-like spirits.
Vanilla, caramel, and coconut make this a mellow sipper.

How does this rum taste?
- Elegant and mild sweetness from tropical fruits
- Tasting notes: Juicy pineapple, Werther's Original
- Very good price to quality
Kaniché Double Wood XO splits RumX opinion with its pronounced vanilla and caramel notes, a persistent sweetness, and subtle coconut and woody accents. Some, like Alex1981, describe it as “very sweet, definitely dosed,” while Armin Tamzarian calls the palate “karamell, vanille und frucht. Gleichzeitig leicht scharf.” The cognac barrel influence is noted but the rum’s mildness and light texture surface just as often as its enjoyable sweetness and fruitiness.

"This is not your typical Barbadian rum because some of the flavours you usually associate with Barbados are missing. A wonderful rum none the less especially if you look at the price. The bottle comes in a nice wooden box with a sliding front which is pretty fancy for a rum in this price range. The nose is sweet and oaky transferring into a soft well rounded palate that has a bit of cognac to it. Price to quality is very good. "
"Tasting notes: Juicy pineapple, Werther's Original and light syrup."
"An interesting taste, that I find quite OK for sipping. All throughout the tasting I had something linger on my tongue that I could not pinpoint. I find, in the end, that maraschino cherries describe this taste best, it is present for me but not overwhelming."
"Not really an eye opener but a mediocre, lightly sweetened Barbados rum. This at least is not so on the nose with the aroma. I don't know if I would suggest someone to buy this. But if you like sweet runs with a hint of coconut I would not stop you."
