How does this rum taste?
The Casa Santana rum, crafted in Colombia at the Multi Distilleries distillery and selected by That Boutique-Y Rum Company, offers a rich profile. Distilled from molasses in a column still and aged for 12 years, this limited release is bottled at 58.4% ABV. Very nice reference for its very small price (36€/50cl), frankly great. Recommended by the Gargantua cellar in Paris I am pleasantly surprised by this Colombian rum which does not pay mine but which is super well made. Hats off! 💙🇨🇴
Even if it is "just" 0.5l...35euros for a bottle is cheap. And it's also 12y. Unsugared Nose: a not unpleasant coffee-ish sweetness. Dark sugar. Toffee. Wood. Pretty "Spanish" in profile but also honest. Taste: bitterness. Dark sugar. Hint of menthol. Cocao powder. A tad on the sweet side but not too much. Quite hot. So.. price quality a pretty good deal. An enjoyable Spaniard with more depth than most of the rums within this particular style.
A good rum for the price, even if it is almost too spicy for me.
It's a really good, unsweetened ron, which I like a lot. Add to that the price, and this is a bottle not to be missed by lovers of this type of rum.
