The "2000" was produced in Martinique at the Depaz distillery. It was distilled in 2000 from Sugar cane juice with a Column Still and then aged for 17 years. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 58,5%. This is a limited release and there are only 980 bottles. 26 community members rated this rum with an average of 8.9/10. It gets off to a good start with a lovely fruity nose (very citrusy, between tangerine and grapefruit) plus a light floral side and well-presented spices. A little alcoholic, but counterbalanced by buttery/brioche touches. On the palate, it's the same old thing, with more fruit (grapefruit) and spices (nutmeg, exotic wood, Pier Import!), and some woody bitterness at first, which then fades. Freshness and tingling reminiscent of Brede Mafane from Madagascar. A long finish with a fruity, vegetal and spicy cane, Waow!
Definitely one of the best Depaz I had to date! Extremely round, spicy fresh and fruity mild.
