A very nice release actually. Slightly different than the last Long Pond I had, but still a very nice one. Fruity in a slightly different way. I like the strawberry that suddenly pops up on the end of the palate. Fresh, intense and oily in a few words 😊
Die ersten Eindrücke der Nase sind Klebstoff, schwacher Ester und Vanille danach kommen leichte Noten von Toffee, Früchten, Limetten und Leder zum Vorschein. Hier sind viele Parallelen zum TRC 13y zu finden, nur das der SS etwas runder wirkt und Vanille & Toffee Aromen aufzeigt. Der Alkohol ist trotz den knapp 52% kaum wahrzunehmen. Die zwei zusätzlichen Jahre an Reifezeit und die 6% weniger Alkohol im Vergleich zum TRC 13y sind am Gaumen klar erkennbar. Am Gaumen sind die beiden sich auch wieder am ähnlichsten, im Vergleich zu allen anderen Crosstasting Kandidaten. Gleich beim ersten Schluck sind Äpfel, Ananas und Banenen gepaart mit Toffee und Vanille zu erkennen. Toffee und Vanille sind die beiden Aromen, die ich im TRC 13y nicht finden konnte und die diesen Rum um einiges gefälliger und runder machen – der TRC 13y ist ruppiger und kantiger, als diese Abfüllung. Der Abgang ist mittellang und geprägt von Medizin, Anis, pflanzlichen Aromen und Leder. Die erkennbare höhere Reife im Vergleich zum TRC 13y ist bei der Punktevergabe nicht wegzudiskutieren. Nichtsdestotrotz gefallen mir auf der anderen Seite die Ecken&Kanten und die höheren Prozente vom TRC 13y besser. Pari! 83 Punkte
