How does this rum taste?
The 2008 Bellevue rum, independently bottled by Isla del Ron, originates from Guadeloupe and showcases classic agricole notes. Distilled from sugar cane juice with a column still, this 10-year-old beverage exhibits a rich profile with woody, nutty, and cocoa hints. At 51.9% ABV, it features a balance of earthy tones and tropical fruit. Collectors value its limited production of only 129 bottles, highlighting its rarity. Despite some criticism for its youth and simplicity compared to earlier vintages, it is appreciated for its spicy and fresh elegance.

A successful surprise. Great Agricole notes, fresh sugar cane juice notes with walnut and vanilla, fine spicy and slightly dry finish. Alcohol perfectly integrated at almost 52%. Wonderful daily sipper that is fun and not overwhelming. For the paid 99€ a purchase recommendation, if still to be found.
A nice Damoiseau! Nose is fruity (mainly citrusy) with a tiny bit of spices and varnish/alcool but in a nice manner. On the palate you've got these green, peppery, flambeed bananas all over the place. A nice herbal freshness (Aloe Vera) melted with spices, green olives, brine and some licorice. Round and gourmand. The final is medium and a bit drying, that's were the balance goes more in favor of the oak but it did the job pretty well! The price is sweet too!
Got a big Scotch single malt whisky vibe from this one. A grower yet a bit fierce in the beginning.
Beautiful thing. I like it. PLV top!
