How does this rum taste?
- Très jamaïcain dans l’esprit
- Gaumen geiler als Nase
- A nice navy style blended rum
Old Navy Rum by Silver Seal gets the RumX crowd talking with its bold, unmistakably Jamaican spirit—“Very heavy on the Jamaican side,” notes DomM, and milone calls it “très jamaïcain dans l’esprit.” Expect aromas of glue and esters, with honey and heavy spice chiming in. On the palate, repeated themes are dark chocolate, spice, and a well-integrated wave of alcohol. Some find its pastry-like character inviting, while others miss a bit of depth or subtlety, but there’s consistent appreciation for the balance between fruit, wood, and those telltale Jamaican esters.

"Very heavy on the Jamaican side - Worthy Park, I think."
"This is a navy style rum and this one hits the nail with its heavy nose and taste. The nose is fruity with spice. The alcohol is there as well as some wood. The palate strong and warm with fruit, spices and chocolate in the front. In the back i get some caramel and a tiny hint of barrel. The finish is long, warm and strong/heavy with licorice and toasted wood. "
