I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 46,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.

8:On the nose, a succession of flattering, gourmand aromas follow one another: a well-coated fairground praline, buttered caramel, a vanilla bean. The woodiness shines through in this delicacy, necessarily restrained, lending its perfume without making the profile drier. The nuts are greedy too, but the rum remains light and simple, and doesn't seem too greasy, especially as a few mild spices enhance the nose a little. It seems sweet, of course, but tends more towards chocolate than candy. In fact, it is more reminiscent of a chocolate pastry.Aeration gives more room to the nuts, which are dressed in a mixture of caramel, wood, molasses and coffee. We then concentrate more on the woodiness, which is rather finely vanilla-toned, reminiscent of a mild tobacco, resulting in something rather pleasant and well-balanced in the end. 8:The attack on the palate is light and very smooth, and the familiar flavors of caramel and vanilla make this a fairly easy rum to grasp. In the same spirit, we continue with blond tobacco, butterscotch and coconut. The orange and woody notes that follow are almost reminiscent of a Bajan sweet rum. 8:The finish is well-balanced, with all the aromas seen on the palate melting into vanilla and caramelized sweetness.😋
Brussels Rhum Festival 15/03/2025 Nose was promising but way too soft and sweet.
15/03/25: tasted @ Brussels Rhum Festival. Not a fan of this stuff. Reminded me a bit of Vizcaya VXOP. I can see people who like the sweeter style of rums liking this though. I'm certainly not one of them.
