Picked this up as part of a search for the ultimate Pina Colada recipe. Blind tasted side by side in Pina Coladas (50ml coconut rum, 40ml coconut cream, 40ml pineapple juice, 15ml fresh lime) with Aluna Coconut and Plantation Cut and Dry. This was done with friends and both my and the consensus opinion was that Aluna Coconut was best, Cut and dry Second and Bounty last. It came last as it was way too sweet (at least for my recipe). Trying a sip neat it is of course way too sweet. It’s very smooth from sugar and low abv. Tonnes of coconut obviously from nose to mouth and nothing else. You could probably adjust the Pina Colada recipe around the sweetness in this rum to make the outcome better but actually I just think the other two options are fundamentally better.
