12.01.2019 I received a huge lot of Samaroli samples from my friend in the UK, and this is the first batch I tried. Notes. Light in colour. Nose:wood, spice, lightly roasted, glue, citrus, light caramel. Palate: fresh, light, wood, roasted, citrus dried fruit, spicy, light caramel. Finish: medium long, wood, dried fruit, anise, caramel.
Nose of cappuccino, cocoa, mocha, buttery, spicy. It's greedy, certainly an old Uitvlugt still. More subtle on the palate, with the same markers as on the nose, and a slight astringency that's not unpleasant. Herbaceous too. A very good demerara selected by Samaroli, with finesse and texture on the palate.
Very elegant rum... a subtle woodiness throughout the tasting... it's not too light but it's not too complex either... I loved this cocoa and roasted taste on the palate...
A rum focused on elegance and poise. Refined emotions and connoisseurship. As it should be with Samaroli. Heady nose but without overdoing it. Medium persistence. Great Samaroli.
