Cave Guildive Port Mourant Demerara Rum PM 2005
Highly praised Port Mourant with dry, herbal, salty character and well-integrated 54% ABV. Seen as a powerful, characterful Demerara and a strong value at release.
Fans of dry, characterful Demeraras who enjoy herbal, medicinal and slightly smoky notes at higher ABV, especially existing Port Mourant lovers and peat/Islay whisky crossover drinkers.

How does this rum taste?
Dry, herbal Port Mourant power
If you already enjoy Port Mourant or peaty, herbal whiskies, this is a great pick: dry, powerful and classic PM without sugar, but it won’t convert sweet-sipper fans.
Those new to rum, anyone expecting sweetness or big fruit, and drinkers sensitive to herbal-medicinal, salty notes or 54% ABV.

By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 25,000 bottlings, 270,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 50,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.

Also a great rum, you can't go wrong with Port Moraunt. It has a fairly strong nose of herbs, and the herbs also predominate on the palate. It also has a hint of citrus fruit and wood. Delicious.
Nose: immediately the delicate nose of fine aged sugar, and it brings me back to childhood memories of backyard bakery, compost, and garbage in the good way. The taste brings similar feelings also with added campfire and delicate peatyness. Wonderful bottle that I don't hasitate to recommend to seasoned tasters.
Now we're getting somewhere. This one is far better than the first one we tried. Heavier in a way and far more power in the flavours. The wood and spices are there as well as the salty ocean with fruits and licorice. At release the price to quality was very good.
Klassisches Port Mourant Profil. Aber voll auf die Eins. Nicht zu viel, nicht zu wenig. Kraftvoll, beeren, trop früchte, weisse schokolad, honig. Gutes Profil und ein sehr guter Rum. Wer PM mag wird hier definitiv fündig.
