How does this rum taste?
Most enjoy its balance of wood, spice, caramel and subtle agricole grassiness. Critics note slightly rough alcohol and missing “classic” Bielle markers. Overall seen as a solid, characterful Marie‑Galante rhum.
If you enjoy oak-forward agricoles like mid-aged Bielle or softer cask-strength cane-juice rums, this offers similar balance and complexity, just know it’s a touch rougher and less “classic” Bielle.
Those sensitive to higher ABV, expecting very intense Bielle/agricole markers, or who dislike woody bitterness and light smoky/toasted notes.

I like this one a lot especially because it's a cheaper rum that pulls off a balanced and complex overall usually found in more expensive rums. The nose is spiced with orange and oak/leather. There is also a light floral note with caramel at the end. The palate is complex and well balanced with fruit and spice. I can also find toasted oak and smoke. The finish is long and oaky/smoky with fruits.
thanks to dr Django for the sample, nice rum but finish is a little "artificial sweetener" tasting.
