- Distinctive vegetal and ester profile
- Complex and engaging
- Subtle Caroni influence
Clairin Ansyen 19 mois (Ex-Caroni) is an intriguing rum crafted at Haiti's Casimir distillery. Distilled in 2016 from sugarcane juice using a pot still, it's aged for 19 months, exhibiting a bold character with pronounced esters and vegetal notes. The influence of Caroni cask is subtly present, adding complexity and depth. Users appreciate its unique nose, which blends esters, vegetal aromas, and hints of honey. To Casimir
"From an ex-Caroni cask I would have expected a more pronounced Caroni flavor, but it must be said that it ended up being aged very little. Great rum, fragrant and surely much better experts than me will be able to find more nuance in it. Very light the unmistakable tar flavor of Caroni. Velier as always, through its perseverance with the triple A rating, has released a noteworthy bottle. Velier gave me emotions that few others have been able to do."
"RumX Advent Calendar Day 3 Honey ,green apple... Fruity Fresh Floral. In the finish slightly dirty notes but very restrained.... Alcohol great Integrated."
"A round Clairin with a delicate Caroni note! Alcohol has been gently reduced and thus a Clairin to enter"
"Day 3 in the Advent calendar: My first impression was Jamaica, as some esters had collected in the covered glass. Otherwise, for me, very vegetable, a bit dirty, reminiscent of graphite. In retrospect, exactly the profile of a Clairin with Caroni notes, but unfortunately I didn't think of that at all. Exciting bottling, but none of my highlights!"
