Relicario Superior
Light, sweet and approachable, with strong notes of caramel and vanilla but not much complexity. Best as a mixing rum or casual entry point—one to try if you enjoy sweeter spirits.
Approachable, caramel-vanilla rum; easy mixing or beginner sipping.

How does this rum taste?
- Good beginner rum
- Very good as a mixer
- Enjoyable pure but nothing remarkable
Relicario Superior gets plenty of talk for its caramel, vanilla, and wood notes, with a sweetness that splits the crowd. A typical session reveals what Bert Tronquo calls a "very decent entry level rum," where the caramel and vanilla sit over a fairly "flat and unkomplexen Geschmack" (Schnapsschuesse). The aroma leans alcoholic and sweet, carrying over into a light, woody palate with hints of grape and spice. Some, like Portman, mention the sweetened style—"Man schmeckt die Süßung leider deutlich heraus"—but others find it a solid starting point, even if it's more mixer than sipper.

"Good for Mixing, nice as a cuba libre 👌🏻 A bit to sweet for what I like (maybe sugar was added!?) This was diluted for sure, no power, complexity… Update: This was one of my first rum of this amazing journey through the rum world! Now after 3 years(!) the bottle is empty 😅"
"This rum is kind of thin/flat and lacks complexity, but I think it's a good beginner rum. The nose is fruity with oak and vanilla. The palate is fruity and the finish in whisky barrels is clear in the taste. The oak is present and so is smoke and vanilla. The finish is medium and spicy with oak/smoke. "
