By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 47,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
This one hits the nail and one of the highest proof rums that I tried where the proof is extremely well integrated. The nose is dominated by alcohol in the beginning but it settles after around 20 minutes. The you get a fruity and spice nose with toffee and cocoa/chocolate. The palate is an explosion of flavours where the barrel/oak mingles very well with caramel, chocolate and brown sugar. The finish is veeeeery long and mildly sweet with oak. This one is close to my favourite La Isla Bonita :-)
For a long time, this was my favorite rum of all time. But time and taste change, and being more into high esters now, I need to lower this from the top grade of 100.
Way too sweet for me today. Not bad but today it reminds me of Ron Esclavo XO cask.
Sött och gott! Mumsigt. Möjligtvis bästa rommen jag druckit hittills.
