“A wonderful tropically matured Demerara. Lots of glue, caramel and coconut on the nose, fat and oily on the palate. A nose that likes to accompany a double corona, intoxicating. It's a real shame that there's nothing more to come. Anyone who has a bottle in their collection can count themselves lucky.”

“Just retasted this one and this time it scored higher, maybe because I had a perfect day for this kind of rum. The nose is intense and fruity with wood, spices, and varnish trailed by chocolate, tobacco and light marzipan. The palate is sweet and sharp at the same time with fruits, spices, tobacco, oak and light licorice and grass. The finish is medium to long and warm with oak, coconut and tea. A few drops of water will release a lot of extra flavours on the palate and finish.”

“Let it air a little first. For 'only' 60% ABV, it comes across quite powerfully... then the nose reveals a wonderfully complex aroma of dried fruit (dates), tropical fruit, tobacco / cedar wood, varnish, caramel, milk chocolate. There is also a hint of Ahoy sherbet lemon wafting in the background. A pleasant sweetness on the palate, accompanied by spices, coffee and nutty, roasted notes. Beautifully balanced and a mega long finish. Great Demerara cinema!”

“WOW outstanding nose Coconut, oak, chocolate, plum, vanilla, licorice, marzipan and slightly fruity madness complex in the nose really strong. On the palate beautiful sweetness floods the mouth mmhh lots of chocolate and coconut slightly reminiscent of a Belize... only much more complex and incredibly round. Some clove and tobacco in the finish. Delicious !!!”

“Edit: schöner Vertreter aus Guyana. Meiner Meinung auch sehr gut, aber irgendeine Kleinigkeit bzw. Fehlnote hat mich gestört, die ich leider nicht genau benennen kann. Das verbaut ihn leider eine bessere Bewertung. Evtl. liegt es auch am Preis, dass die Erwartungen so hoch angesetzt waren. Für mich eher ein Sammlerstück leider, als ein Rum den man ohne groß Nachzudenken trinken kann. Denn Abgang hätte ich mir auch viel länger Vorgestellt als er dann auch ist. “If rum had a prophet, it would be this rum. A marvelous nose, plunging into the heart of the Demerara terroir with its spicy, caffeinated and chocolate notes, tropical fruits and sweet pastry notes following the thread with a hint of glue and varnish, tobacco and floral notes that make this a perfect rum on the olfactory level. On the palate, the dark, spicy, chocolatey profile, the fruit and the incredible depth are like being guided through a poem. Elegant, complex, balanced, infinitely smooth and simply delicious. The finish is endless, with floral notes, spices, almonds, chocolate, tea, caramel, tropical fruit, wood and licorice. The quintessential rum in all its splendor.”

“Was für eine wahnsinns Qualität. Eine vollmundige, intensive Nase. Würzig, holzig und doch fruchtig. Getoastetes, liebliches Sandelholz mit etwas Tabak und Leder. Dann zugleich getrocknete Aprikose und Dörrplaume sowie Kirsche. Kräftiger Melassesirup, malzig und Vanillepulver. Gaumen: nicht minder intensiv und vollmundig. Feine Eiche und kieniges Sandelholz. Deutlich Mandel leicht zu Marzipan hin. Dunkel röstig und dadurch leicht bitter-salzig. Schön würzig mit Muskat und Nelke. Hinten getrocknete, saure Johannisbeere und leicht Schokoladegüssen. Oberste Liga zusammen mit den anderen Velier”
