How does this rum taste?
The Collection Grand Arôme Omaggio is a distinguished limited-edition rum from the Savanna distillery in Reunion. Distilled in 2007 from molasses using a column still and aged for 10 years, it boasts a 55.1% ABV. This rum captivates with prominent aromas of banana, tropical fruit, and esters, alongside notes of overripe and woody nuances. Its flavor profile echoes with tropical fruit and woody undertones, enriched by hints of banana, fermentation, and esters. Enthusiasts appreciate its luscious fruity characteristics and complexity, likening it to peaty whisky but with distinct bubble gum notes. A really nice and fruity Grand Arôme. Have tried it a few times and you get a lot for your money.
Tasty, if a bit special Savanna. Very dry, a bit woodier than expected. Intense lavender tea, red pepper and tobacco, as well as bergamot, plus some fermented fruit. Unfortunately, but something relatively short in the finish. Nevertheless, very tasty and round!
Finish comes through very the cask. Strongly reminiscent of a peaty whiskey.
Nez : du grand arôme comme on l’aime/ananas/banane/fumé … c’est intense et solvanté à souhait Bouche : fumé/olive verte/fraise tagada Finale : longue/épicée/amer Je trouve cela bon, très bon, mais il lui manque le petit quelque chose qui le rend magique comme le chai humide 10 ans !
