09.08.2019 Tasting with the usual suspects and our own bottles. Notes Light to medium dark in colour. Nose Wood, roasted, light smoke, dried fruit, cherry, faint chocolate, light medicinal. Palate Light, smooth, wood, light roasted, fruits, cherry, light citrus, spices, raisin, light medicinal, light caramel. Finish Medium long, light, wood, faint chocolate, light coffee, raisin, light medicinal.
Petit dépucelage plaisir pour bien débuter mes congés : SAMAROLI Demerara Dark Rum 1988 Single Cask 75cl / US Import A 1988 vintage Demerara dark rum from an unnamed distillery, bottled by Coilltean Spirits, the bottling arm of Italian firm, Samaroli. Bottled in 2013 from single cask #5. 508 bottles and 45% Imported to the US market by Domaine Select Wine Estates, NY. J'ai retrouve ceci : Torréfié, chocolat, tabac, fruits à coque, pas trop d'épices, vanille, mangue et un joli boisé. J'aime ce côté "rhum d'antant" j'ai presqu'envie de dire que c'est un blend enmore/Versailles/Diamond....avec une pointe de gourmandise sur le fruits hyper mûre (genre Uitvlugt mais sans le coco) ....mais non. C'est bien un single Cask 😄 Par contre, comme pas mal de vieilles quilles de l'époque oùil y avait toujoursunbouchon en liège, à l'ouverture, il s'est cassé dans le goulot 🙃
