02.04.2020 Had a nice tasting with my friends at a very nice hotel. Notes. Medium dark in colour. Nose: Intense, fresh, wood, floral, dried fruit, caramel. Palate: oily, wood, roasted, spicy, dried fruit, orange. Finish: wood, grass, spicy, dried fruit, licorice.
I'm not sure it's aged 19 years... However, a wonderful discovery with a molasses (i.e. non-agricultural) rum. I seem to recognize Damoiseau rum ... coincidence? For me, this is a rum with a honeyed, herbaceous nose .... On the palate, I don't find the honey, but I do get a mentholated sensation and a taste of liquorice! Very little length on the palate... Short-lived pleasure, but a pleasure nonetheless.
Another extremely good representative from Bellevue 98!
Disappointing palate. Too much alcohol, too much bitterness, too much wood. All this takes up too much space. A pity, the nose was appealing.
