The "HTR" was produced in Trinidad at the Caroni distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler The Whisky Agency. It was distilled in 1997 from Molasses and then aged for 15 years. The rum has an ABV of 50% and the mark is HTR. Pretty well done. But it's a far cry from what we've seen from Caroni. Still, it's pleasant to drink, despite being a little too "light" for my taste.
Le nez s'ouvre sur le caramel et une note qui me rappelle les pneus de vélo...après ouverture le raisin sec fait son apparition puis il libère de belles notes de fruits enveloppés de caramel. En bouche, l'attaque est ronde toujours avec le caramel ainsi que des épices. Et rapidement l'acidité du fruit de la passion se mêle au menthol dans une belle fraîcheur. Le petit côté caoutchouc est présent mais discret en trame de fond. La finale est longue sur le menthol et une sensation de gourmandise persistante. DÉLICIEUX.
