How does this rum taste?
- Distinct smoky and roasted profile
- Chocolate and caramelized notes
- More character than standard Zacapa
Smoky and dark chocolate notes define Ron Zacapa Edición Negra, layered with woody, roasted, and caramelized aromas that RumX tasters frequently praise. While the sweetness and charred oak stand out, some find the alcohol a touch forward and the price higher than expected. Worth a sip for fans of dessert-style rums who enjoy a smoky twist.

"Very similar to the normal Zacapa on the nose (caramel, fruit), except that smoky and toasty flavors are more represented. In the mouth, the smoke and tobacco then comes through very strongly, which is why drinking becomes a spicy experience. Must like, I do not find it all too good. Price much too expensive! Positive to mention are in any case the chocolate and roasted flavors, which are very pleasant in combination with caramel."
"An all-purpose rum, rather sweet with notes of caramel and smoked wood. This special edition bears a striking resemblance to the original, and the quality-price ratio is correspondingly lower. For me, it would have deserved a few degrees more to be better."
"Aromatically good and not too sweet but the smoky just doesn't fit in here.... And the alcohol is strangely not well integrated."
"Rusty and pleasing. Nice rum for sweet rum lovers. Price-enjoyment ratio rather moderate."
