"Great rum, but compared to Casimir in ex-caroni cask, the caroni scent is barely perceptible. Esters, fruitiness, wood and other aromas reminiscent of licorice and anise. Long, delicate lychee finish, but others might smell mango, pineapple or papaya. This experiment in aging clairin is fairly successful. The 39-month clairins in fact are well made. Velier is at the beginning of this new and fascinating experimental phase that I hope will improve further."
