Young and wild on the nose. Very horny in the mouth. Wonderful combination of flavors. Top.
Yet another great release from this bottler. They have done well on many releases with their finishes on many desstillers. The nose is fruity with varnish and light wood, vanilla and iodine. The palate is intense and fruity with spices and wood. Leave to rest for all the flavours to be released. You can also add a few drops of water. The finish is very long and fruity with wood and spices. Lovely rum and the price to quality is very good.
Super. Mal wieder gegrillte Ananas deluxe. In der Nase etwas alkoholisch. Am Gaumen massive Esternoten. Hier ist der Alkohol für mich nicht mehr so spürbar und das bei über 60 % alc. Sowohl in der Nase als auch am Gaumen kommt zusätzlich zur gegrillten Ananas eine süße Kirsche dazu. Sehr lecker. Im Direktvergleich zu anderen High-Ester Hampdens musste ich die 2007er etwas runterpunkten (-2).
How this rum blew me away on first contact! A nose to sink into, incredibly intense and aggressive and yet harmonious and clear: pineapple and almond croissant are the leading notes. These are joined by fermented tropical fruits and varnish and sweet glue. In the mouth and finish, the slightly roasted pineapple, noticeable acidity and the taste of artificial cherry candy continue to dominate. The rum lingers in my mouth for minutes. Not for every day, but the full beauty of high-ester rum! Unfortunately, every other rum tastes bland afterwards.
