It was distilled in 2007 from Molasses with a Pot Still and then aged for 9 years. The rum has an ABV of 46%. 31.07.2021 A nice tasting held by a bygone spirits shop. Notes Light to medium dark in colour. Nose Light wood, faint smoke, fruity, overripe, plum, faint nutts. Palate Light, light wood, fruity, banana, overripe, light nutts, naturally sweet, light vegetal. Finish Medium long, fresh, light, light wood, fruity, naturally sweet, faint smoke.
Nase: Leichte Süße der Tropenfrüchte überwiegt, etwas Schokoladiges und Würziges schwingt mit, auch leichte Lackaromen zu vernehmen. Eher dezent für Jamaika. Gaumen: Frischer, holzig, würziger Auftakt, schnell setzen sich Whiskyaromen durch. Getreide und Rauch lassen sich vordergründig ausfindig machen, aber die ganze Zeit begleitet von einer Honigsüße und Kräuternote im Hintergrund. Abgang: Die kräuterigen Noten bleiben mit leichter Süße des Honigs und ein wenig Rauch. Fazit: Ohne spezielles Finish überrascht mich die Nähe zum Whisky, für einen Jamaikaner. Die leichte Honigsüße gepaart mit der Kräuternote wiederum gefällt.
