“La fameuse dégustation du coffret des single cask S.B.S. Le fût # 193. Le meilleur nez des quatre, profond et équilibré entre les arômes fruités et les notes d’atelier mécanique. La bouche est deçevante car les arômes y sont heurtés et l’alcool pas si bien intégré. La finale est longue mais un peu faible en comparaison avec les 3 autres. Le meilleur des 4 le verre vide.”

“Der Rum ist Teil eines Sets: Fass 53, Fass 190, Fass 193 und Fass 216. Bei diesem ist der Alkohol nicht sonderlich gut eingebunden und ein paar Tröpfchen Wasser tun ihm sehr gut, da er sonst diesen "Push in your Face" Effekt hat. Wobei ich das bei diesem gerade mag. Für das was das Set kostet bzw. mal früher gekostet hat, ist es ein absolut Topp PLV. Da können sich manch neuere Abfüllungen mal über ihren Preis nachdenken. Werde hier nochmal nachlegen!”

“La comparaison se fait entre les 4 Caronis Single Cask 1997 de chez SBS. Ce Caroni tire son épingle du jeu avec un profil un peu différent des autres Single Cask. Le nez est plus frais, avec une touche mentholée subtile qui vient casser le côté sale et empyreumatique du profil. Les épices et les fruits tropicaux sont présents, accompagnés par le caramel et le sucre brûlé pour une touche de douceur. Un nez complet et original. Le profil change une fois en bouche. Le boisé est plus présent, on a un côté tannique qui assèche le palais, mais paradoxalement pas mal de douceur sur le caramel et les épices (vanille). Le caoutchouc, le goudron et les fruits sont nettement plus effacés. L’alcool pourrait être un peu mieux intégré. La finale est plutôt longue et assez changeante. Le caramel salé s’immisce à travers les épices (piment, poivre), le cuir, le boisé et les notes fumées. On retrouve également le tabac, le goudron et le caoutchouc. Si le profil perd en complexité et en profondeur par rapport aux fûts voisins, ce Caroni a le mérite de proposer une expérience différente avec ses arômes et ses saveurs plus fantaisistes.”
