#4450 04.11.2023 preparing a tasting for next weekend for a group of 4. All rums are in the "war" spectrum 😂 This rum is a really bad one. Wow, the wood was on fire when they put the rum in the barrel. Wood and roasted/burnt notes are dominant and taking over. Even the finish is kind of bad and there is no balance to be found. Even after long resting it doesn't open up. Tried with some water as well to no avail. Happy I didn't buy one back then.
Once again a typical '93 vintage! Insanely tart bitter notes, furniture polish that I only know from the KFM.
Very strong bitter notes. Caroni DNA is recognizable, but the overall impact is too intense in a bitter-bitter direction.
What should I report, an alleged 93 Caroni that somehow doesn't come across as Caroni, a mixture of chamomile tea fermented with soy... I don't like it at all. I'm sorry. Ash remains in the finish.
