Got this 5cl sample from the Rum Ratings Tasting Club. Clément VO 3yo is a blend of rums aged in new oak barrels and former bourbon barrels. The finish is medium long with tastes of cane and lime besides the tastes from the palate. Overall a typical young AOC rum.

Jolie Nez gourmand sur les confiseries. Assez minéral en bouche mais un peu trop léger. La gourmandise promise au nez est bien trop réduite à mon goût. D’ailleurs il ne reste plus grand chose en longueur. Un rhum sympa à accordé avec des cigares très légers. Dommage qu’il lui manque un peu de watt, il serait sinon très très sympa…

a fresh and Young Rhum Agricole. very woody, you can almost taste the wheat. a hunch of vanilla and nuts. to be honest, it's a good rum for a small budget, but way too young for a real tasting pleasure.

Un rhum agricole de Martinique de 1er prix, très courant en grande surface. Vraiment ce n'est pas un bon rhum, c'est un rhum qui peut faire fuir les gens des rhums agricoles et définitivement de la marque Clément. Je n'ai pas trouvé de goût interessant, c'est boisé et salé à la rigueur, aucune subtilité, aucun fruité. Je m'étonne comment on peut placer une note moyenne de 7/10 pour ce rhum !... et par exemple une note moyenne de seulement 7,4/10 pour le J.M. Terroir volcanique (dont le budget est assez proche).. incompréhensible, comparez et vous verrez qu'il y a un monde énorme entre les 2. Si celui-ci fait 7/10, combien mettrait-on sur simplement un Neisson profil 107, 50/10 ??? Pour un budget découverte partez plutôt pour le même prix sur Saint James, Dillon, HSE, ou encore mieux un rhum ambré la Favorite assez courant en grande surface (1L à 27 euros).

Ce Clément VO est bon, rien de transcendant mais en digestif et pour un prix réduit, il fait très bien l’affaire. Le nez dévoile une palette aromatique intéressante, épices et fruits secs sont prédominants. La bouche se veut assez franche, une bonne chaleur, sur le bois et les épices. La finale est relativement longue, et reste sur un boisé très appréciable. Rapport Q/P très bon.
