something must have gone wrong at Silver Seal. They have very likely mixed a Jamaika cask with the DDL cask. The nose is pure Jamaika. Esters, solvent and a nice fruity touch. Overripe banana and ananas. Sweet and very well balanced. On the palate the fruity notes step back. Still dried fruits, esters, but now there is honey, wood, something that reminds me of a Speyside whiskey, leather. It looses a bit on the finish, but appears still to be very smooth and balanced.

Nase: wirkt sehr frisch, zu Beginn dominieren Zitronenschale und geschwefelte Papaya. Eine süßliche Note von eben der Zitrone und vielleicht von Bienenwachs. Etwas holzig- würziges versteckt sich da auch noch, Vanille und ganz leicht Harz. Hinten etwas pflanzliches, eingelegte Olive vielleicht? Gaumen: hmm, wirkt zu Beginn eher etwas flach und verdünnt, kommt dann aber doch mit interessanten Dingen: erst schwefelig mit Jod und deutlichen Umami-Noten, wirkt metallisch und leicht seifig. Dann etwas Kümmel der sich hin zu getrockneter Aprikose entwickelt. Nicht Top, aber doch interessant.
