The "R7.1 Welcome to Strawberry Jamrock LROK" was produced in Jamaica at the Hampden distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler The Scotch Malt Whisky Society. It was distilled in 2000 from Molasses with a Pot Still and then aged for 16 years. The rum has an ABV of 54% and the mark is LROK. This is a limited release and there are only 214 bottles. 11 community members rated this rum with an average of 8.5/10. 21.05.2022 Sampling at home. Notes Light in colour. Nose Fresh, intense, light floral, cherry, faint wood, fruity, light ester, faint herbs. Palate Round, balanced, medium intense, light wood, faint medicinal, fruity, light earthy, faint chocolate, light ester. Finish Long and fresh, light wood, faint smoke, fruity, orange, ester, medium dry, light tobacco.
It took quite some time, but this one developed some cinnamon and somewhat menthol-y notes on the nose. Quite a bit better on the nos vs. TRC and RC imo. Little more fruit in the palate. Very well balanced and enjoyable.
