Quite straightforward Caroni, which lacks the enthusiasm potential. Overall solid, but among the weaker bottlings at Velier.

Beautiful tropical aged Caroni that feels more at home on the dirty side. Needs some time to develop. It is a bit too rough on the palate for a top rating.The wrong number of bottles on the label make it a real rarity.

In der Nase paaren sich typische Caroni-Noten mit einer angenehmen Fruchtigkeit und einer Ladung Menthol und Minze, dazu nimmt man durchaus positiv das Holz des Fasses wahr. Am Gaumen überlagern dann würzige Aromen, allen voran Anis, die roten Früchte der Nase und eine leichte, angenehme Schärfe ist wahrnehmbar. Im Abgang dann erneut Anis und eine lange und zunehmende Trockenheit. Klasse Rum und auch ein guter Caroni!

Sehr schön. Da ist die dreckige Nase, aber nicht brachial, eher fein: alter Lack, aus dem die Lösungsmittel schon raus sind, Menthol. Etwas frisches wie Harz und leicht Zitrusschale an Kochbananen, etwas trockener Tabak. Lecker. Leicht schmutziger Oberton in Richtung Möbelpolitur, der bleibt. Darunter holzig fruchtig, Menthol auch hier. Leicht würzig, etwas wie Nelke oder Kümmel. Leicht Leder und Tabak. Würzig dreckig, schmutzig. Gefällt mir richtig gut.
