Velier Caroni Millennium Magnum HTR 2000

Un Caroni qui respecte sa promesse, les saveurs habituelles de la distillerie. On retrouve parfaitement nos attentes sans surprise, ni bonne ni mauvaise.

Quite straightforward Caroni, which lacks the enthusiasm potential. Overall solid, but among the weaker bottlings at Velier.

A very intense nose, dominated by tar and rubber, with smoky wood. Fruits are complex but in the background. A powerful attack of tar and rubber. The fruit shows the tip of its nose and the smoky wood becomes more pronounced. Then a certain sweetness appears. The finish is long, on machine shop, smoked wood and fruit. Here, too, the sweetness at the very end adds complexity to this rather powerful rum.

#4862 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Round, balanced, wood, light roasted, faint anise, light mint, light rubber, faint tar, fruits. Palate Wood, light roasted, light cherry, fruits, light rubber, light tar, light mint, light anise, medium dry, faint smoke, faint caramel. Finish Medium to long, wood, light roasted, spice, light mint, light rubber, light tar, faint caramel, light anise. This is a very easy drinkable Caroni and the ABV is perfectly integrated. This bottle has also reached a price level where you just sample it if you can 😊

It's a great rum this one. Lovely nose with rubber, menthol and fruits. On the palate it's beautiful, more on the dirty side with spices, wood influence, fruits, tar and some sweetness. Leather as well? A lengthy finish with more menthol. Really enjoyed this one, everything a Caroni should be I reckon. Apparently it's a lot rarer than initially thought due to a print error on the label according to the Caroni book!

This is really a staple for the 2000s Caroni, and back at the day really with a fair price, I am really happy to come back to this regularly. Also, this is a great Old Fashioned. Really something to miss at its original price...

Flavour bomb, with the typical Caroni signature. Highly recommended!

On the nose, typical Caroni notes are combined with a pleasant fruitiness and a hint of menthol and mint, and the wood from the barrel is also very noticeable. On the palate, spicy aromas, above all aniseed, overlay the red fruits on the nose and a slight, pleasant spiciness is perceptible. The finish is again aniseed and a long and increasing dryness. Great rum and also a good Caroni!

Beautiful tropical aged Caroni that feels more at home on the dirty side. Needs some time to develop. It is a bit too rough on the palate for a top rating.The wrong number of bottles on the label make it a real rarity.

Very nice. There is the dirty nose, but not brute, rather fine: old varnish from which the solvents are already out, menthol. Something fresh like resin and light citrus peel on plantains, some dry tobacco. Delicious. Slightly dirty overtone in the direction of furniture polish, which remains. Woody and fruity underneath, menthol here too. Slightly spicy, something like clove or caraway. Slightly leather and tobacco. Spicy, dirty, grimy. I really like it.

Also a great drop, finish a little dry but chocolate

... Caroni je destilerie z Trinidadu, produkujici v dobe sve nejvetsi slavy rum, ktery se pridaval v pomeru 1:10 do namornickeho blendu. Byl totiz moc vyrazny a divny nez aby byl prijemny na jazyku. V roce 2000 destilerka skoncila s produkci a byla uzavrena. Az v roce 2010 se objevili degustatori, kteri si rum oblibili prave pro jeho specialni chut. A zajem rostl. Caroni patri do kategorie rumu "you need to try before you die". Doporucuji, Caroni je opravdu unikatni rum.
