How does this rum taste?
The 'Coeur de Canne' from La Favorite distillery in Martinique is an Agricole-style rum distilled from sugar cane juice with a robust 50% ABV. This rum is characterized by its sugarcane, floral, and citrus aroma, accompanied by peppery, vegetal flavors highlighted by notes of fresh and tropical fruits. Suitable for cocktails like Ti Punch and Caipirinha, its versatility and balance are appreciated by many. While some users praised its richness and price-to-quality ratio, reactions were mixed regarding its alcohol sharpness and cocktail performance relative to other Agricole rums.

I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 46,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
Really good ratio quality for price, makes a killer ti punch or even caipirinha (yes rhum agricole > cachaça)
Chicago, October 2022
Tasted blind at home against Mauny's wouj, which he left on the shelf. To be tasted again against an opponent of its stature, I'll perhaps be more nuanced. Nose: rich, powerful lemon and citrus fruit. Palate: citrus and exotic fruit. Good length on the cane.
Superb ti-punch rum.
