Dos Maderas 5 Years + 3 Years rum is a blend crafted from Caribbean spirits and matured in Spanish sherry casks, exhibiting a nuanced profile that combines vanilla, dried fruits, and woodiness. With an alcohol content of 37.5%, this rum is notable for its dry oak flavors and subtle sherry undertones. User reviews highlight a distinctive vanilla aroma with hints of dried fruit and wood, complementing its dry, woody palate. "The base in this rum is a blend of 5yo rum from Guyana (DDL) and Barbados (a little unclear if it comes from WIRD or Foursquare, seen both data) aged in the Caribbean. Iâve taste this and I can clearly recognize Demerara at this stage. This base are after arriving to Jerez, Spain, aged for 3 more Solera years in barrels earlier contained Dos Cortados Sherry which is very dry. I think itâs quite good even if it canât compete with my favorite Sherry finished rum, but itâs in my opinion much better than the 5+5."

"Really an extreme difference between the 5 3 and the 5 5.The 5 3 is quite characterless, way too weak and just soft-spoken."

"Al naso barile, vaniglia, sherry, frutti secchi e qualcosa di liquirizia. Al palato delicato con vaniglia, leggero bosco, sherry e spezie sul finale medio. Interresante chi ha trovato note di sapone, in effetti ha qualcosa che lo ricorda vagamente per la consistenza e il gusto. Purtroppo gli manca profonditĂ e corpo, ma non Ăš male"
