The nose is initially relatively inviting with typical aromas that I would expect from such an old Nicaraguan rum: tobacco, dark chocolate, allspice, oak barrel, tanned leather and prunes. On the palate, the whole thing is unfortunately very dark roasted and almost charred on the one hand, on the other hand dry but unfortunately also very soapy. Then comes dark chocolate again, strong mocha, cardamom and vanilla. Not bad, but I had higher expectations.
