How does this rum taste?
- Budget-friendly option
- Good mixer
- Pleasant vanilla notes
Flor de Caña 7 Años Gran Reserva is a Nicaraguan rum produced by Compania Licorera. Distilled from molasses using a column still and aged for seven years, it boasts a 40% ABV. The rum presents dominant vanilla notes with hints of alcohol, wood, hazelnut, and raisins. While some users find it a good budget sipper with versatile mixing potential, others note its somewhat one-dimensional profile. The rum's spicy and dry character with moderate vanilla, wood, and nutty flavors make it suitable for mixing rather than a preferred choice for enjoying neat. Overall, it offers a commendable balance for those seeking an affordable rum option without intense sweetness, ideal for casual enjoyment.

"Flasche hatte mein Bruder im Regal nie probiert also Bitte. Finde die Nase noch am besten hier geht gut Richtung Cognac. Am Gaumen vorwiegend Rum Rosine und etwas dünner Geschmack. Für ne Rum Cola sicher nutzbar."

"Notes from 25.04.2018: Travel souvenir from a good friend that was opened directly. Fruit and vanilla on the nose, then sweet in the mouth with some fruit and a clear alcohol note. Pure well in the cola then it goes."

"The only rum at the Christmas market that you could get at the Nicaragua stand. I had it in cocoa and grog as an update. It works there. Probably not so good neat."
