By rum lovers, for rum lovers
I'm Oliver – together with Jakob, Robert, and Lukas, we started RumX in 2018 as a small passion project in Stuttgart, back then under the name Rum Tasting Notes.
What began as a digital tasting diary is now the world's most comprehensive platform for rum fans: over 24,000 bottlings, 250,000+ independent reviews, and an active community with 46,000 members. We combine the collective intelligence of our community with an integrated marketplace, allowing you to shop securely and manage your collection directly from the app.
The goal? To offer you, the rum connoisseur, a place where you can choose with confidence—without paperwork, detours, or expert jargon.
My brother had never tried the bottle on the shelf, so please. The nose is still the best here, with a good hint of cognac. On the palate mainly rum raisin and somewhat thin taste. Certainly usable for a rum cola.
6:On the nose it is rather well-balanced and fruity, with a light banana note that wafts over ethereal notes. It's relatively consistent, with notes faithful to this category of light molasses rums: vanilla, nuts, caramel. It's not overly full-bodied and holds up well over time. Aeration develops the roasted nuts, and this roasted side opens up to coffee. The rum has gained in darkness and bite. We retain the idea of a light rum, which has drawn all it can from the toastiness of the barrel. 5,9:On the palate, the attack is in tune with the nose, so light, it passes stealthily by, dancing on the taste buds with its ethereal quality. Nuts and wood remain suspended, never settling in. 5,7:The finish is light, with toasty wood and a few roasted spices lingering for a few moments..
Pure not so mine, nice nose but too sharp in taste. To mix but a cheap and good rum
Notes from 25.04.2018: Travel souvenir from a good friend that was opened directly. Fruit and vanilla on the nose, then sweet in the mouth with some fruit and a clear alcohol note. Pure well in the cola then it goes.
