"I haven't had it in a glass for a long time ... especially not neat. It's amazing how perceptions change. I can now only taste an average Jamaican rum blend from the former "Mai Tai secret weapon". Definitely not to be recommended neat. Simply remains a solid low-cost mixer."

"Overall a nice drop and the Hampden doesn’t hide. It’s fruity, funky with some wood and spices. The overripe fruits are intense almost to a rotten level but it also reminds me of old flower water (mouldy). At the nose it is quite present and on the palate a bit less. Nevertheless a great drop and you get a lot for 35€. As a mixer I also see its great reputation. The mouldy nose gets lost in the mix and it works perfectly."
