How does this rum taste?
- Nice thick and oily MM profile
- Long and warm/spicy with wood, citrus
- The alcohol is integrated very well
The Warren Khong Villa Paradisetto MMW leans into classic Clarendon traits: strong wood and spice lead, with fruit and floral notes gradually appearing as it rests. Multiple tasters mention how “the alcohol is very present” (@crazyforgoodbooze), and while it delivers a thick and oily Monymusk profile, @DomM says it’s “very much on the opposite of ‘accessible’.” Letting it breathe brings out dried fruits, light smoke and herbal accents, while banana and citrus pop up for those with patience. Most agree it’s a bold, intense rum that rewards you if you take your time.

"Very fruity „delicious“ in the nose. Super delicious intense in mouth with a super finish. The alcohol is integrated very well. This rum needs time to fully open! At least 1 hour Nose: fruity, some notes of banana, coconut, papaya, dried apricot, orange peal, oak, marzipan and the spicy :3 Mouth: It‘s a fully body of wood, anise, tobacco and some fruits. Very delicious. Finish: Long and minty with dominat notes of the barrel. Very Very good!"
"A small Monymusk comparison. Velier Monymusk 2007: Difficult to access, with fruit and very spicy. Very simple. Somewhat spicy. Quite tasty, but nothing that calls for a re-tasting. Second tasting: -4 points Habitation Monymusk 2010: Woody, spicy, fruity. The alcohol is very well integrated The rum is very well balanced and is fun with every sip! Second tasting: = points"
"#4269 23.09.2023 Relaxing after small tasting and a double birthday. Movie and a good rum is never a bad idea. I like this one. Just needs to rest for a good while before giving it a go. I got the bottle pretty cheap in a bundle which is why I have it. The nose is fresh and fruity with nice floral notes and a light smoky touch. The palate is oily and intense with fruit and spices. There is also some solvents and earthy notes in the back. The finish is long and warm/spicy with wood, citrus and light solvents and menthol. Draws nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass has some dried fruit and herbal notes."
