"I do not really warm up to the Transcontinental line - this bottling also fits seamlessly into my picture of the series: Common vintages of well-known distilleries and Marques, but through the bank the bottled rum plays at best in the second league. Unfortunately, the same game here - for Diamonds from 2003 there is now a handsome selection, the present bottling finds itself at best in the lower midfield of the releases known to me. Rather disappointing."
"Have here the TCRL Diamond Navy, 2003-2016, 57.18%, with with 238 bottles. Oh I like this nose. Fruity sweet and fresh at first. Tropical papaya and tart sweet dried and sulfured currant. I'm also right there with the pleasantly sweet-woody-leathery with a subtle smoky note. Also typical, on the palate the sweet fruity note gives way to strong spicy notes. Woody, bitter, but then comes a tart fruit note, perhaps of quince with black currant. There is also some almond. The finish retains the woody spicy impression with a hint of almond, some grass at the end."
