The "Old Jamaique" was produced in Jamaica at the Long Pond distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Corman Collins. It was distilled in 1977 from Molasses with a Pot Still and then aged for 35 years. The rum has an ABV of 50%. "A nice and fruity rum with roasted wood and spices. The ABV should have been higher in my opinion. The empty glass has some chocolate and coffee notes to it."

"Eine sehr runde Sache mit vielschichtigem Aromenspiel, bei der leider der Abgang gegenüber dem Rest ein bisschen zu mager ausfällt, um lange im Gedächtnis haften zu bleiben. Erst mit längerer Standzeit im Glas baut dieser Low-Ester Long Pond sein gesamtes Repertoire auf, was aufgrund seiner süffigen und fast schon zu gefälligen Grundausrichtung das Risiko birgt, das Glas schon vorher leergetrunken zu haben."
"Angesichts der Rahmendaten eine große Enttäuschung: Der Rum ist wenig komplex, die Nase dünn. Geschmacklich dominiert eine Karamellsüße den Rum, hinten raus dann eine leichte Bitternote und nasser Karton. Alkohol gerade für das Alter nicht gut eingebunden. Für den Preis des Samples hätte ich mir lieber eine Flasche eines Mittelklasse Bourbons kaufen sollen."
